He put all things in subjection (panta upetaxen). First aorist active indicative of upotassw, quoted from Psalms 8:7 as in 1 Corinthians 15:27 . Gave him to be head (auton edwken kepalhn). Gave (edwken, first aorist active indicative of didwmi) to the church (the universal spiritual church or kingdom as in Colossians 1:18 Colossians 1:24 ) Christ as Head (kepalhn, predicate accusative). This conception of ekklhsia runs all through Ephesians ( Colossians 3:10 Colossians 3:21 ; Colossians 5:23 Colossians 5:24 Colossians 5:25 Colossians 5:27 Colossians 5:29 Colossians 5:32 ).
