7 Benefits of Being Baptized in the Holy Spirit

Worship is much more than the collaborative sound of our voices during a church service. Worship is the way we live our lives to bring glory to God. Baptism of the Holy Spirit brings glory to God, and it triggers a response of worship! It could be singing, speaking in tongues, prophesying, preaching and teaching. There are many ways the Spirit speaks through our everyday lives, but when it’s Him, everyday will bring glory to God.

The baptism of the Holy Spirit ushers in the presence of God. God is always with us, through the Spirit when we receive Christ. But there are times in our lives when He makes Himself poignantly known in a moment of time.

God promises when two or more gather, He is also there. No coincidence He calls for there to be another person to interpret a message in tongues for the body of the church. But His presence can also be richly felt through speaking in tongues of prayer over someone, or just in crying out to the Lord in that way ourselves. I do believe, if we want more of God, He is faithful to show up and deliver just that.

Conviction is rarely comfortable. The Holy Spirit is able to communicate with us in a way no human can. Sometimes, the Lord will speak through another person, but no one can understand the inner workings of the human hearts as the Creator of them does. Each one of us was created uniquely, with specific purpose. It makes sense only the Lord would know the individual language of every human heart. He knows what we need to hear and when, and cares so immensely for us that He will not allow us to continue down a path which will harm us without grabbing our attention.

It’s important to keep the main thing the main thing. God is in the business of drawing people to Him, in love, in whatever way He deems appropriate at any given time for whomever He needs to speak to or through. Jesus said, His goal was that every ear would hear. God is after every human heart. To echo Paul’s words to the Corinthians: Let love be our highest goal.
