6 La puerta Vieja la repararon Joiada, hijo de Paseah, y Mesulam, hijo de Besodías; colocaron sus vigas y asentaron sus hojas con sus cerrojos y sus barras.

Nehemiah 3:6

Moreover, the old gate repaired Jehoiada, the son of Paseah,
and Meshullam the son of Besodeiah
Which some think was so called because it led to the old city Salem. Dr. Lightfoot ^F1 thinks it is the same with the second or third gate, ( Zephaniah 1:10 ) . According to Vatablus, it was the gate of the old pool, ( Isaiah 22:11 ) , or rather, perhaps, it was the gate of the old wall Josephus speaks of {b}; it led to the north of the land:

they laid the beams thereof;
as in ( Nehemiah 3:3 ) .

7 Junto a ellos Melatías gabaonita y Jadón meronotita, hombres de Gabaón y de Mizpa, hicieron también reparaciones para la sede oficial del gobernador de la provincia más allá del río.

8 A su lado hizo reparaciones Uziel, hijo de Harhaía, de los orfebres; y junto a él hizo reparaciones Hananías, uno de los perfumistas; ellos restauraron a Jerusalén hasta la muralla Ancha.
