Exodus 3:21

21 Moreover, I will make the Egyptians so well-disposed toward this people that when you go, you won't go empty-handed.

Exodus 3:21 Meaning and Commentary

Exodus 3:21

And I will give this people favour in the sight of the
Egyptians
That is, give the Israelites favour in their sight, a little before their departure, who should be ready to do anything for them, or bestow anything upon them; or however lend them what they would desire, being glad to be at peace with them, or get rid of them, for whose sakes they would perceive all those sore calamities came upon them, they were distressed with: and it shall come to pass, that when ye go, ye shall not go empty;
destitute of what was necessary for them, but even with great substance, as was foretold by Abraham they should, and which prophecy was now about to be fulfilled, ( Genesis 15:14 ) .

Exodus 3:21 In-Context

19 I know that the king of Egypt will not let you leave unless he is forced to do so.
20 But I will reach out my hand and strike Egypt with all my wonders that I will do there. After that, he will let you go.
21 Moreover, I will make the Egyptians so well-disposed toward this people that when you go, you won't go empty-handed.
22 Rather, all the women will ask their neighbors and house guests for silver and gold jewelry and clothing, with which you will dress your own sons and daughters. In this way you will plunder the Egyptians."
