7:21 Job’s pessimistic remarks about death and the grave do not reflect the full biblical perspectives on the subject. Job felt that he would soon die and it would be too late for God to help him. The Bible indicates that no place escapes the view of an omnipresent God (Ps 139:7-8) and that there is life after death (Ps 73:23-27; 1Co 15:20-57). See notes on Jb 14:13-15; 19:25-27.
