6:4-5 Sin is treated as a debt and places the offender under debt (Mt 18:21-35; Lk 7:41-42). In Is 53, the Servant of the Lord offered himself as a guilt offering. That passage looks ahead to the death of Christ, who made full and perfect compensation for the sins of the world.
