Amos 8:7

The Lord hath sworn by the excellency of Jacob
Not by the ark, as R. Japhet; nor by the temple, as Kimchi; but by himself; which sense Kimchi also mentions, and Aben Ezra; the God of Jacob and his glory, the most excellent of all Jacob's enjoyments, and of whom he had reason to boast and glory; see ( Amos 6:8 ) ; surely I will never forget any of their works;
their wicked works, especially those now mentioned; God forgets when he forgives them, or suffers them to go unpunished; but though he had done so long, he would do so no more; on which they might depend, since he had not only said it, but swore to it.

5 diciendo: Cuando pasare el mes, venderemos el trigo; y pasado el sábado abriremos los alfolíes del pan, y achicaremos la medida, y engrandeceremos el precio, y falsearemos el peso engañoso

6 y compraremos los pobres por dinero, y los necesitados por un par de zapatos, y venderemos los desechos del trigo

7 El SEÑOR juró por la gloria de Jacob: No me olvidaré para siempre de todas sus obras

8 ¿No se ha de estremecer la tierra sobre esto? ¿Y todo habitador de ella no llorará? Y subirá toda como un río, y será arrojada, y será hundida como el río de Egipto

9 Y acaecerá en aquel día, dijo el Señor DIOS, que haré que se ponga el sol al mediodía, y la tierra cubriré de tinieblas en el día claro
