And they said, Cornelius the centurion, a justman,and one that fearethGod,and of good reportamongall the nation of the Jews, was warned from Godby an holyangel to send for theeintohishouse,and to hearwordsofthee.

Then called hethemin, and lodged them. And on the morrowPeter went awaywiththem,andcertainbrethrenfromJoppaaccompaniedhim.

And the morrow after they enteredintoCaesarea.AndCornelius waited forthem*, and had called togetherhiskinsmenandnearfriends.

AndasPeterwas coming in, Corneliusmethim, and fell downat his feet, and worshipped him.

ButPetertookhimup, saying, Stand up; Imyselfalsoam a man.

And as he talked with him, he went in, andfoundmany that were come together.

And he saiduntothem,Yeknowhow that it is an unlawful thing for a man that is a Jew to keep company, or come unto one of another nation;butGod hath shewedme that I should notcallanymancommonorunclean.

ThereforecameI unto you without gainsaying, as soon as I was sent for: I asktherefore for whatintent ye have sent forme?

AndCorneliussaid, Fourdaysago I wasfastinguntilthishour;and at the ninthhour I prayedinmyhouse,and,behold, a manstoodbeforemeinbrightclothing,

Andsaid, Cornelius,thyprayer is heard, andthinealms are had in remembrance in the sight of God.

SendthereforetoJoppa,and call hitherSimon,whose surname isPeter;he is lodgedin the house of one Simon a tannerby the sea side:who, when he cometh, shall speak unto thee.
