Phrygia,and*Pamphylia, in Egypt,and in the parts of LibyaaboutCyrene,andstrangers of Rome*, Jewsand*proselytes,

CretesandArabians, we do hearthemspeak in ourtongues the wonderful works of God.

And they wereallamazed, and were in doubt, sayingonetoanother,Whatmeaneth*this?

Othersmockingsaid*, These men arefull of new wine.

ButPeter, standing upwith the eleven, lifted uphisvoice,andsaid unto them, Ye men of Judaea,andall ye that dwell at Jerusalem,bethisknown unto you,andhearken to mywords:

Forthesearenotdrunken, asyesuppose, seeing it is but the thirdhour of the day.

Butthisis that which was spokenby the prophetJoel;

And it shall come to passin the lastdays,saithGod, I will pour outofmySpirituponallflesh:andyoursonsandyourdaughters shall prophesy, andyour young men shall seevisions,andyour old men shall dreamdreams:

And*onmyservantsandonmyhandmaidens I will pour outinthosedaysofmySpirit;and they shall prophesy:

And I will shewwondersinheavenabove,andsignsin the earthbeneath;blood,andfire,andvapour of smoke:

The sun shall be turnedintodarkness,and the moonintoblood,beforethatgreatandnotableday of the Lordcome:

And it shall come to pass, that whosoever*shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved.

Ye men of Israel,hearthesewords;Jesus of Nazareth, a manapprovedofGodamongyou by miraclesandwondersandsigns,whichGoddidbyhimin the midst of you,as ye yourselvesalsoknow:

Him, being delivered by the determinatecounselandforeknowledge of God, ye have taken, and bywickedhands have crucified and slain:

WhomGod hath raised up, having loosed the pains of death:because it wasnotpossible that he should be holdenofit.

ForDavidspeakethconcerninghim, I foresaw the Lordalways*beforemy face, for he isonmy right hand,that I shouldnot be moved:

Therefore*didmyheartrejoice, andmytongue was glad; moreover*alsomyflesh shall restinhope:

Because thou wiltnotleavemysoulinhell,neither wilt thou sufferthine Holy One to seecorruption.

Thou hast made known to me the ways of life; thou shalt makemefull of joywiththycountenance.

Men and brethren,letme[a]freely*speakuntoyouof the patriarchDavid,that he isbothdeadandburied, andhissepulchreiswithusuntothisday.

Thereforebeing a prophet,andknowingthatGod had sworn with an oath to him, that of the fruit of hisloins, according to the flesh, he would raise upChrist to sitonhisthrone;
