And the foolishsaid unto the wise,Giveusofyouroil;forourlamps are gone out.[a]

But the wiseanswered, saying, Not so; lest there benotenough for usandyou:but go yerather to them that sell, andbuy for yourselves.

And while theywent to buy, the bridegroomcame; and they that were ready went inwithhimto the marriage:and the door was shut.

Afterward*camealso the othervirgins,saying, Lord,Lord,open to us.

But he answered and said, Verily I say unto you, I knowyounot.

Watchtherefore,for ye knowneither the daynor the hourwhereintheSon of mancometh.

For the kingdom of heaven is as a man travelling into a far country, who called his ownservants,anddelivered unto themhisgoods.

And unto onehegavefivetalents*,[b] to anothertwo,and to anotherone; to every manaccording to his severalability;andstraightway took his journey.
16
Then he that had received the fivetalentswent and tradedwith the same,andmade them otherfivetalents.
17
Andlikewise he that had receivedtwo,healsogainedothertwo.
18
But he that had receivedonewent and diggedin the earth,andhidhislord'smoney.

Afteralongtime the lord of thoseservantscometh, andreckoneth*withthem.
20
And so he that had receivedfivetalentscame and broughtotherfivetalents,saying, Lord, thou deliveredst unto mefivetalents:behold, I have gainedbesidethemfivetalentsmore.

Hislordsaid unto him, Well done, thou goodandfaithfulservant: thou hast beenfaithfulover a few things, I will maketheerulerover many things: enter thouinto the joy of thylord.
22
Healso that had receivedtwotalentscame and said, Lord, thou deliveredst unto metwotalents:behold, I have gainedtwoothertalentsbesidethem.
