28 Los veinte kilos de plata
restantes se usaron para hacer los ganchos y los anillos, y para recubrir los capiteles de los postes.

Exodus 38:28

And of the thousand seven hundred seventy five [shekels],
&c.] Which remained of the sum collected, ( Exodus 38:25 ) after the silver sockets were cast:

he made hooks for the pillars:
on each side of the court of the tabernacle on which the hangings were hung; these hooks, as Kimchi says {t}, were in the form of the letter (w) , and were made to hang the sacrifices upon, when they took their skins off; and so it is said in the Misnah ^F21, that there were iron hooks fixed in the walls and pillars, on which they hung (the passover lambs) and skinned them; this was done in the second temple, when the hooks, it seems, were iron, but those of the tabernacle were silver:

and overlaid their chapiters, and filleted them;
that is, overlaid the heads, tops, or knobs of the pillars with silver plates, and filleted, girded, or hooped other parts of them with silver.

26 Esta plata procedía del impuesto que cada hombre había pagado al registrarse en el censo. (El impuesto era de un becá, que equivale a medio siclo,
según el peso del siclo del santuario). Recaudaron el impuesto de los 603.550 hombres que ya habían cumplido veinte años de edad.

27 Para construir las cien bases para los soportes de las paredes del santuario y los postes que sostenían la cortina interior se necesitaron tres mil cuatrocientos kilos de plata, es decir, unos treinta y cuatro kilos por cada base.

28 Los veinte kilos de plata
restantes se usaron para hacer los ganchos y los anillos, y para recubrir los capiteles de los postes.

29 El pueblo también presentó como ofrenda especial dos mil cuatrocientos siete kilos
de bronce,

30 el cual se usó para fundir las bases de los postes que estaban en la entrada del tabernáculo, y para el altar de bronce con su rejilla de bronce y todos los utensilios del altar.
