Hebrews 11:18

Of whom it is said
That is, of Isaac, Abraham's own son, whom he offered up; or rather, "to whom it was said", as the Vulgate Latin and Syriac versions render it; that is, to Abraham, for to him was this said, ( Genesis 21:12 )

that in Isaac shall thy seed be called;
that numerous natural seed of his, which should inherit the land of Canaan; and his special famous seed, the Messiah, to whom the promises were made; (See Gill on Romans 9:7).

16 Antes bien, anhelaban una patria mejor, es decir, la celestial. Por lo tanto, Dios no se avergonzó de ser llamado su Dios, y les preparó una ciudad.

17 Por la fe Abraham, que había recibido las promesas, fue puesto a prueba y ofreció a Isaac, su hijo único,

18 a pesar de que Dios le había dicho: «Tu descendencia se establecerá por medio de Isaac».

19 Consideraba Abraham que Dios tiene poder hasta para resucitar a los muertos, y así, en sentido figurado, recobró a Isaac de entre los muertos.

20 Por la fe Isaac bendijo a Jacob y a Esaú, previendo lo que les esperaba en el futuro.
