And the whole assembly took counsel to keep other seven days,
&c.] They consulted among themselves, and with the king and his nobles about it, who all agreed to it:
and they kept other seven days with gladness;
not altogether in the same manner they had kept the preceding seven days; they did not slay and eat passover lambs, nor did they eat unleavened bread, but offered peace offerings, and feasted upon them; and sung the praises of God, and attended to the instructions of the priests and Levites, being in a very agreeable frame of mind for religious exercises.
