Mark 12:11

This was the Lord's doing, and it is marvellous in our
eyes.
] That is, the exaltation of the Messiah, after he had been so ill treated, and at last put to death by the Jews. These words are a continuation of the passage cited out of ( Psalms 118:22 Psalms 118:23 ) .

12 And they sought to lay hands on him: but they feared the people. For they knew that he spoke this parable to them. And leaving him, they went their way.
13 And they sent to him some of the Pharisees and of the Herodians: that they should catch him in his words.
