Jeremiah 32:14 Meaning and Commentary

Jeremiah 32:14

Thus saith the Lord, the God of Israel
The order to do the following is ushered in in this solemn manner, partly that Baruch might more strictly observe it, and act according to it; and partly that the persons before whom it was given might take the greater notice of it, and believe that there was something intended by it of moment and importance: take these evidences;
or "books" F24; the deeds of purchase: this evidence of the purchase, both which is sealed, and this evidence
which is open;

14 ‘This is what the LORD Almighty, the God of Israel, says: Take these documents, both the sealed and unsealed copies of the deed of purchase, and put them in a clay jar so they will last a long time.
15 For this is what the LORD Almighty, the God of Israel, says: Houses, fields and vineyards will again be bought in this land.’
